About Us:

Forged Futures is committed to the NWS’s mission to achieve a Weather Ready Nation. We support the NWS OWP in promoting and improving the National Water Center (NWC) National Water Model (NWM) – a hydrologic modeling framework with observed forecast streamflow for 2.7M river reaches and hydrologic information on 1km and 250m grids. The NWM provides forecast guidance for 5M miles of river and streams in the US and impacts NOAA river forecast centers and field offices working toward expanded water services.

Extreme storms, fluctuating temperatures, and more frequent droughts, fires, and floods challenge societies to use our collective intelligence and take actions needed to predict and adapt to climate changes, address economic and environmental security, and better understand and sustain our living biosphere.
